Welcome to the Plymouth Parent Partnership Website

This website gives you information and links to services to help you as a parent or carer. Within this website you should be able to find information and links to services that will help you navigate through the difficult role of being a parent. The website has been designed to be parent friendly. Suggestions for improvements to the website are always welcome please contact us.

Parent Partnership is a service that gives impartial and confidential support to parents and carers. Included Plymouth Parent Partnershipon this website is our revised Directory of Services to support parenting and families in Plymouth. Also available on the website is a link to the Plymouth Child Care directory.

We play a key role in providing a city wide information strategy for parents, carers, families, young people and professionals in Plymouth. We provide a gateway to information via websites, telephone helplines, paper directories and opportunities for direct contact with information and support staff.

Raising the Participation Age leaflet

Raising the Participation Age leaflet (PDF - 127 KB) - From 2013 all young people will be required by law to continue in learning or training to 17 years old.

From 2015 they will be required to continue in learning or training to 18 years old.

Parent Support Adviser Update

The Parent Support Adviser (PSA) project was piloted in Plymouth between 2006 and 2008, and has been consolidated and expanded during 2008 – 2011. From the 1st April 2011, the majority of schools across the City have retained their Parent Support Advisers or some form of parent support. Findings from the Family Support Survey 2010, a survey for parents and carers to express their views on the family support services available. Questionnaires were completed at the Parents on the Plaza Event (Saturday 16 October 2010), groups and events organised by Parent Support Advisers and also through various Parent Partnership groups and events.

Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board - UPDATED - The PSCB has a responsibility to help children and young people to be safe and not be harmed. It has a responsibility to monitor how well people work with children, young people and families helping children to stay safe.
